Simple Stories Awesome Layout "Comtemplating"

Finally had a few minutes to unload my bag from cropping last week, actually a week and a day ago...life certainly is happening A LOT around our house.
These pictures are NOT from this spring but from spring 2011 on the Texas Tech campus. I love to go and shoot pics there because it is so pretty with all the monuments, statues and flowers.
This of course 2 page layout, which is loosely based off of a Sketch Support sketch from the blog a couple of weeks ago.
I used the Simple Stories Awesome line for all of it, well minus the comtemplating part and the brads...the brads came from my stash, which I had left over from T's project and the Contemplating is cut from a piece of copper colored glitter paper that my sweet friend Judy shared with me.
I love that whenever I am stuck on a title or some other aspect of a layout I have LOTS of sweet friends to turn to for help, whether in person in this case with Ms. Helen and Ms. Judy or via text message, Facebook, email you name it. I was struggling with a "title" and they helped me figure one out.
Love how this turned out. Simple, clean and to the point, which is definitely becoming my style of scrapbooking.
Again I went with my trusty sketch books and website for guidance and stuck with one line of paper to work from. Makes things go so fast and I love how it all works just perfectly.

Hope everyone has an amazing Memorial Day weekend!

2010 is Complete!!!

Okay so I can hear the comments...."stop bragging", "show off", "overachiever".....LOL. I know most of you wish you were this caught up, but for me this is NOT caught up.

I totally hate the fact that I am almost 18 months behind. I like to be under a year if not 6 months back....I hate feeling like I will forget the stories behind the pictures, and honestly I so feel that way right now. I have noticed though while planning pages lately that I do not take nearly as many pictures as I used to, partly because I have realized I already have approximately 18 albums, partly because his growing up and I just don't have as many "cute" opportunities to take pictures anymore. However he has been on some amazing trips and adventures in those past 18 months and I am super afraid details will be left out if I don't do something about getting caught up sooner than later.

So that is my goal for now, for the summer....to get caught up to at least to January 2012 by the time T goes back to school. Of course all while working, being a mom, vacation, crop planning and page and project kit planning too. Luckily the page kit planning can possibly be incorporated to a point with Tyler's albums, BUT also want to do some non-boy or T themed layouts for everyone too.

Anyway, so here is the last Christmas 2010 layout, and last layout for 2010 in general. Again those trusty sketch books to the rescue....also I have been trying to use paper collections on projects too, which helps cut down on the planning and thinking of color patterns etc. This layout is Bella Blvd. Very simple and cute, and notice there are even a couple of pictures of me on the layout too. I am trying to do that more, but it is so hard to give up the camera to be on the other side of it.

I always take so many pictures at Christmas time and notice that this seems to be my biggest season to scrapbook. . For this layout alone I had printed 20 pictures an weeded it down to 11, which was hard but necessary. Anyone else have that trouble?

Anyway, hope you enjoy and let me know what you think. Also remember if you have page kit suggestions let me know those too. Guess I better get back to working for a living for now so I can get busy scrapbooking pages and planning a fun crop in June.

A Woofy Christmas

This layout looks pretty familiar to a lot of you by now I am sure. I love this sketch and it is super fun and easy to work with. I think I did this entire layout in less than 30 minutes. I used a paper pack from Michael's that I got this past year at Christmas time...I actually wanted it all season long but kept saying no...but then they put it all on sale after Christmas so I had to have one!!! I love the colors in this!!!

Every year tradition has been that T gets to pick out a gift for the dogs. Something we always did for Shania before T was born and once he was old enough we let him take over the tradition. Shania always had a way of getting in the middle of Christmas morning so we started the tradition that she, and now Dixie, get to be the first to open their present Christmas morning. That way they are occupied for at least a little bit. Shania loved her bones so that always worked....Dixie prefers her stuffed toys and well it works for maybe 5 minutes, but still it's fun. The best part...they always seem to know which one is theirs too. After all they are part of our family. Anyway, enjoy the layout.
